| PRESENTATION | Tanzania is a transportation hub of goods to a substantial number of SADC Member States, in particular Malawi, Zambia, Mozambique and D.R. Congo using the Dar-es-Salaam corridor. The country has been impacted by climate change which, in turn, is negatively affecting the sustainability of transport infrastructure (specifically roads and bridges), and the safety of marine vehicles, thus hampering productivity of the Transport sector and the economy As part of the ongoing efforts for improving weather and climate services in the country, and in line with the Tanzania Meteorological Authority Act No.2 of 2019 and its regulations, the government is looking for collaboration with Development Partners, public and private international organizations and NGOs for Procurement, shipping and installation of meteorological infrastructure as well as the provision of training on the use of infrastructure and products generated. |
